Other Sheep Farms

If you are interested in finding out more about sheep farming in Vermont, or are looking for lamb at a time when Tamarack Tunis lamb is sold out, please peruse the web sites of our friends at Fat Rooster Farm, Maple Wind Farm, and Jericho Settlers Farm. These farmers are committed to grass farming and/or organic production, and produce high quality lamb at fair prices.

For fleeces and yarns, Kim Goodling is a good source. Further afield, Tamarack is actively working with Tunis and Dorset Horn breeders in other states, including AnnaRae Hodgin of TLH Farms in North Carolina, Nancy Schmidt of Red River Farm in Ohio, the Swiss Village Foundation in Newport Rhode Island, and Monte Forster of Oregon. It will take a concerted effort at numerous farms across the country to save the genetics of these rare breeds so  that they can be available for future generations.
