Inspired by the Slow Money movement, friends and local residents Hannah Dennison and Dave Severance financed the purchase of land in 2009; in 2010 when it was time to build a barn, the Vermont Agricultural Credit Corporation stepped in with favorable financing; in 2011 the flock expansion was paid for by a Farm Service Agency loan. Without access to “patient” credit of this type, Tamarack Tunis would not be a reality.
