2012 and Beyond

It's been 90 years since Eddy and Nealie Liddell began the Tamarack bloodline with two lambs, and 70 since Herb Liddell began keeping Dorset Horn. After six years of owning the flock, almost all of the 30 older ewes that Ben began with in 2006 have passed away, but their offspring are the basis for the current flock of 100 ewes and 50 ewe lambs. In the next 2-3 years, Tamarack hopes to continue to grow the flock to 220 ewes, working with other breeders to experiment with different strains of Tunis and Dorset Horn as well as Dorper, Dorset, Navajo-Churro, and Katahdin breeds. 2012 will be a year of gradual expansion, and improving pastures and hayfields will be a priority.
